Description
Meet Jaxson!
*Jaxson will turn 8 soon and was adopted at birth in the US. He was adopted into a large busy family and has never adjusted to the fast-paced lifestyle of this family. They are partnering with Second Chance to find a new adoptive family whose life is structured very differently than theirs. Jaxson needs a family who is more sedentary; home-bodies with a structured and quiet lifestyle. This new adoptive family will need to have a current homestudy (or one that can be easily updated), a small family (2 or 3 other kids max) and no other children in the home under age 10. Unlike some of our other kids, Jaxson would do well with an older special needs sibling. Please write us if you’d like to know more about Jaxson and our process of being approved for a Second Chance adoption. Write to secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org .
Jaxson is an outdoorsy kid who loves hunting, fishing, riding his bike and playing outside. He likes working outside with animals and participating in physical activities like pushing wheel barrows and moving firewood. He loves to work alongside a father figure and really needs to have an involved dad in his new adoptive home.
He has a deep love for historical events and watches documentaries about shipwrecks and discoveries. Jaxson likes facts—about weather, history, outdoor activities, etc. He is a great conversationalist and enjoys talking to people about things they enjoy. He will remember things you share with him and bring them up later in the most thoughtful ways. He has a good imagination and likes to dress up in costumes and act things out. Jaxson is a helpful kid around the house and seeks approval from those he cares about. He wants to work in public services as a firefighter, police officer or leader of a rescue squad. When he was younger, he would sometimes only leave the house once he had all his firefighting gear on!
Jaxson loves music; he likes to sing along to his favorite songs. He also likes to play the drums. He enjoys books a lot and having stories read to him. He’s learning to read and will occasionally read books to himself. He enjoys pets and does well with the large dog in his current home. Jaxson likes to build complicated railroad tracks for his train set and work with his tool set on small projects. He takes good care of his belongings and complies with keeping his room clean and making his bed every day. He has a stuffed rabbit that he is attached to that is pretty worn out! Jaxson can be shy and reserved, but typically warms up to adults rather quickly when he becomes comfortable with the people and environment.
Jaxson is in grade 2 in school. His favorite subjects are art and recess! He loves school and does great with the structure of it. Jaxson loves to read and is proud of his ability. He knows he can go on adventures in books and likes to read for himself as well as being read to. He especially enjoys Encyclopedia Brown books as well as books about history and facts. He really enjoys watching documentaries about weather and history and will spout off all kinds of facts and information from what he’s heard.
He has a great appetite and enjoys lots of different kinds of foods.
We will require that Jaxson be the youngest in his new home by at least 2 years. This means no other children in the home under age 10. If you have a current (or easily updated homestudy), meet the other requirements listed, and would like to know more about adopting Jaxson, please write back to us at secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org and ask for his ‘full profile’. Please write to us!
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.
