Description
Nate is a 13, almost 14-year-old boy that was adopted internationally when he was younger. Nate’s parents report that he has never bonded with them. He has not attached and their relationship feels more like a roommate relationship than a parent child. Nate has said over the years that he doesn’t want to be a part of this family and that he would like a new one where he can have a fresh start. His family has partnered with KidTeen Adoptions to try and find him a new home. We are a fully accredited and licensed adoption agency that helps families who are dissolving adoptions. We are looking for a two parent or single parent home with or without other children. Nate does well with younger and older siblings, but siblings around the same could potentially cause competition for him. Heterosexual and LGBTQ+ individuals and couples are invited to inquire. There is no preference on employment, age, location or religion of the new adoptive parent(s).
Nate is absolutely obsessed with anything that is around flight or aviation. He is part of the Civil Air Patrol youth program through the U.S. Air Force. In the program, he’ll learn to fly a plane. He enjoys this program and hopes to become a military pilot someday. Nate loves spatially challenging tasks, like complex puzzles and games. He’s built 3D puzzles, one of which was 1,000 pieces. Nate is a bright kid. He just finished the 7th grade (May 2023) and got good grades. His favorite subject right now is Science. Nate participates in drama club, yearbook and Hope Squad at his school. He likes to be involved.
Nate loves attention, praise and responsibility. If his teachers give him a task to complete, he eats it up. He loves to help with projects. Nate has a family member who is very handy. He has helped this family member with lots of wood or metal working projects around the house or in the yard. Nate really enjoys helping in these types of situations.
Nate enjoys art. He makes really elaborate pop-up or greeting cards that sometimes take him hours to make. He enjoys crocheting and has made many hats and scarves for himself and others. Nate is compassionate and loving towards animals. His family have had many different pets/animals over the years and Nate enjoys being around them. Nate enjoys jumping on the trampoline outside or playing at the trampoline park near his home. He’s open to most activities, as long as it’s with other people. Nate is the type of kid that wants to be around other people.
Overall, Nate does better outside of his current home. Because of this, we are hopeful that we can find him a new home where he can be successful.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
