Description
Miles is a 13-year-old boy who was adopted from foster care. He was eight years old when he was adopted. He 5’2”, 94 lbs, and has a slender build. Miles is friendly, helpful, and respectful. He plays the trombone and is on the swim team. He loves cats and is very fond of dogs.
Miles is friendly and helpful at school and church. He is open, affectionate, enthusiastic, inquisitive, resourceful, and hard working. He shows tenacity and ability to get through frustration when working on a difficult project he is interested in, like building a toy robotic arm, domino machine, or other building projects. He is curious about the world around him. He often asks questions about how things work, tries to come up with solutions to problems. He also loves video games.
Miles has been diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder, ADHD, and PTSD.
Miles was chosen as an “Ambassador” at school and also awarded “Student of the Month”. Teachers tend to enjoy having him in their classroom, and he receives rewards for his positive behavior.
The ideal family for Miles would be a family that is continuing his treatment in terms of medication and therapy. He would need to be in a family with no other children or much older children because of his sexual history. They have no preference on the parent’s sexual orientation, marriage status, race, or religion.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
