Lovely Lucinda was born October of 2009. While physically healthy, Lucinda’s special need is listed as moderate mental delays. Information from 2019 says that in 2014 Lucinda was placed with foster parents who she calls “uncle” and “aunt”. Previously, she was raised by her biological family where she was extremely neglected. Lucinda loves music and loves to watch cartoons on TV. She goes to school with her foster parents accompanying her there. She works with a resource teacher who supports her for one hour a day. Lucinda has difficulty acquiring new knowledge and needs multiple repetitions. She needs constant supervision and still wears a diaper. If she likes an activity, she can concentrate for a long time although she still needs guidance. She can write her name and “mom.” She loves to play with dolls. She lives in a house with a yard and during holidays from school she is happiest playing all day with the family cats (they have several). Lucinda is well-meaning and does not show aggression or self-aggression. The children in the class have accepted her as she is and she has no problems with adaptation in school.
