Description
Meet Cozy! She is 12 years old and was adopted internationally at the age of 8, by a family with 5 biological children. One of those biological children is the same age as Cozy making them pseudo-twins. Having a sibling the same age has caused competition, which has resulted in tension and a lack of connection in the family.
We are looking for a Christian family (no LDS please) with no other children under the age of 14 to adopt Cozy. If this fits your family, please reach out to us and request more information and her full bio. We have a lot of great information to share on her and why she is needing a new adoptive home. Email kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
Cozy enjoys the attention of adults. She is polite and makes age-appropriate conversations. She has a friendly disposition and smiles often while others speak to her. She does not talk back and is not sassy or aggressive. She loves going to church, school and Tae Kwon Do. She is helpful to her teachers and fellow classmates at school.
Cozy is reported to be physically healthy. She has no allergies or dietary restrictions. She will eat almost any food that is placed in front of her. She has a fit, trim and naturally strong build. When she is outside, she likes running, swimming and playing on her ninja obstacle course. Cozy likes unicorns, rainbows and anything that is the color pink or purple. She is an avid reader. Her favorite books to read are adventure books. She likes journaling, drawing and anything crafty.
Cozy is a calm and collected girl that does not get overly energetic or hyper. Although she has her struggles, we are confident that there is a home out there more suited to her needs. Could you be the family for her?
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily updated home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL or DE. If you live in WI, we can do placements but they have a few requirements that include a few visits with the child. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If you haven’t started your home study, please contact us for information on how to begin one. However, if we have home study ready families for this child, they will be considered first. If you are willing to take a child between the ages of 8 and 15, we suggest you begin the home study process as soon as possible so you can be considered for future/other children.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 8 can be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples, who would love to add them to their family.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit. There are also grants out there that can help fund your adoption (please request information).
Contact us if you have questions or want to know more information about Cozy. Our email is kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
