Meet Tarah!

*Tarah is 7, turning 8 at the end of Jan (2018). She was adopted internationally. Tarah is very unhappy in her adoptive home and asks repeatedly for a different home. We are partnering with her family to find a different family unit for Tarah. We agree with her adopted family that a different setting will make all the difference for her. We are hoping to find Tarah a new adoptive family with no other children in the home under age 12. Tarah’s favorite thing to do is to go on a long drive with the radio up and sing. Swimming, biking, making art, and any sport you can think of are also at the top of her list. She loves to run around outside, go to parks, and explore. She builds with every medium you can offer her—large and small Legos, Lincoln logs, gigantic Janga boards, and tinker toys. She loves picture books so much that you can often find her hiding under blankets in her bed with a flashlight and stack of books. She enjoys doing her doll’s hair and sister’s hair. She dreams of having her own children someday, and wants to have a job of driving a school bus. She adores animals: the family has two kittens and she’ll happily spend hours playing with them. At school, recess is a favorite, especially playing tag or ‘chase’ games. She loves small children and typically does very well playing with them. She is very caring for them, and notices if they’re in harms way. She will even protect children of strangers at the park! Her family says “there is a beautiful, wonderful child inside that we have been completely unable to sustain, and are hopeful will come out and flourish in a new environment”.

Tarah is very affectionate to others and will run to neighbors, friends, and teachers to give giant hugs. She enjoys talking with them and engaging in play. Even with her adopted mom, she likes to give hugs. She takes a bit of time to warm up to strangers (she is shy), but once she feels safe with you, she will talk your ear off.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, OR or DE. If you have never had a homestudy before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But, we would love to share with you the process of starting a homestudy so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!

Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.
