Description
Meet Jerry
Jerry is an almost 9-year-old boy adopted from the USA foster care at 3 years of age. He was in a foster home, that the day the family received him was closed down. Speculation for the reason it was shut down may have been because of sexual abuse.
Jerry is not doing well in his home. His parents say they are unable to provide him a home that would nourish him. Other children in the home are too close in age. His parents believe he would do better in a home without other children.
Jerry manipulates and struggles with telling the truth. He has lied about having sex with other boys. The family says he has not really followed through with any boys they know about. .
Jerry weighs 60 pounds and is 50 inches tall. He is in excellent health. He is small for his age. He has no physical limitations. He can be shy at first, but will eventually warm up and becomes very talkative. He has become more affectionate over the years, but not overly so. He is very eager to please. He is a bit introverted, so he needs time to himself if he’s around a lot of people for a while.
Jerry is current on his immunizations. He has no known allergies. He had a well-child checkup September 4, 2020. He is in excellent health. He has not been diagnosed with any health or psychological disorders. He currently is not on any medicines.
Jerry has not had a psychology evaluation. He has been home schooled since the pandemic closed his school. He is in 4th grade. He is very intelligent. He’s excellent at math and reading. He gets consistently good grades. He loves to learn.
Jerry loves to play soccer, football, and basketball. He really loves organized sports and other group activities. He likes playing outside and riding bikes. He enjoys chilling out in his room and drawing. He is very good with electronics, i.e., the family’s iPad (this actually got him in a bit of trouble as he removed the family safeguards and viewed some X-rated pages which has caused the family to remove it from him)
Jerry will be 9 the end of July. He was adopted from the USA foster care system. He needs a new placement because his current family feels it would be in his best interests to have a new family that can help him reach his potential. Jerry’s behaviors have caused his parents to make the difficult decision to find a new family for him.
The social worker believes that if he is placed in a family willing to work with Jerry on his sexualized issues, he could do well. The social worker for the KidTeen Adoption program, believes that Jerry could do well in a single dad family.
New Family Requirements:
The family prefers a traditional 2-parent heterosexual couple or a single dad. The family has a preference that Jerry would be the only child or youngest child in the family.
The family believes Jerry would benefit from a church going family, but has no preference for denomination.
The family feels that either a stay-at-home parent or working parents would be okay. They have no preference as to age of the parents and their location, although they say a family located in Texas would be nice.
