Description
Jed is a 10-year-old boy that was originally adopted through foster care. He is in need of a new home. His family have partnered with KidTeen Adoptions to try and find him a better suited family/environment for his needs.
We are looking for a single or two parent household. Traditional and LGBTQ individuals and couples are invited to inquire. Jed could potentially do better with a single dad or two fathers, but this is not a requirement. Jed enjoys social interactions, and we believe he would do best with siblings in the home. He has lived with foster siblings in the past and currently has a sibling in his home that he gets along with. He hasn’t displayed jealousy towards siblings that he lives with. There is no preference on the location, age, employment or religion of the new adoptive parent(s).
Outside of his home, Jed is considered a role model and team player with others. He is social, outgoing and confident. He will often get compliments on how caring and affectionate he is. He loves animals and will kiss his pets every morning and every night before bed. Jed gets along well with others outside of his household. Jed enjoys being outdoors playing sports like basketball, soccer and football. He loves going to the beach and going swimming at the local pool. Jed enjoys drawing, sketching and playing with exotic toy cars. Recently, he’s been enjoying games/puzzles like sudoku and solitaire. Jed would say that his favorite movies are Top Gun, Toy Story and Big City Greens.
Jed is currently in the 5th grade. His teachers enjoy having him in class and say that he is very capable when he puts effort in. Because Jed is social, he tends to talk a lot and get distracted. His favorite subjects are physical education, music and art. Jed does not have an IEP but receives tutoring services from school. He will need continued additional academic support in a new home.
If you fit what we are looking for, please write to us and request his full information. Please email us at kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we cannot place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, a few steps must be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
