UPDATE: We have received a new complete medical update for sweet Dina from January of 2021. Because the update is so lengthy, please e-mail kathy@wiaa.org to request.
****UPDATE****
Update for Dina from Bulgaria:
We are happy to have an update for darling Dina. An update from July 2020 says the following: Each day Dina is helped into an adult aid stroller and is kept in a vertical position. While she has “play-time” she is awake in the group with the other children and she likes it very much. She follows with eyes and fixes on things. She laughs aloud in emotional interactions. She can pronounce sounds and a combination of sounds. She has good emotional tone. In her bed she is very active. Dina has delays in her neuro-psychic development and physical development. She is on a Keto diet. During this past period she did not get sick from acute respiratory infections. She continues to need specialized medical care.
****
Dina was born in February 2013.
ORPHANAGE FEES SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED FOR HER ADOPTION!
Our Eastern Europe representative recently met Dina and wrote:
We visited her for a second time at the end of February and we truly hope that a family for her will be found… She is the sweetest girl that we believe has a potential for much better development but out of the place she lives now and hopefully in a family environment.
Dina unfortunately had the flu when our Eastern Europe representative met her in November 2016. Our representative wrote at that time: Dina is a sweet little girl with big brown eyes, white skin and auburn hair. She has been diagnosed with Pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency. The staff reported that she is very active child. She laughs with her voice when she is teased by known adult. She usually is in good emotional state and smiling, teasing the adults to pay her attention and following their actions. She loves the attention of the adults and their presence and all the activities. Dina likes to be among other children and loves the attention coming from known adults. She is a cute girl with strong mind for life.
Dina has delays in psycho-motor and physical development due to her diagnoses, but the staff and I believe that this child could have amazing progress in her development if she receives the love and the care of a family. The staff thinks that she has a big potential and she would flourish into a family environment, where she is going to receive love, care and stable environment. She is so cute and small, and deserves to feel what are love and family environment!
