Meet Cory!
Meet Cory! This adorable boy is 9 years old and was adopted from foster care. He is in need of a new home. Cory’s past trauma has made it difficult for him to bond with his current family. Cory responds well to males and would do well with a strong yet loving male role model. We are looking for a two-parent household (heterosexual or same sex couple, preferably males). Single mothers that inquire will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Cory would do best as the only child or youngest child in his new family. There are no preferences on religion, age, location or employment of the new adoptive family.
If you fit what we are looking for, please write to us and request his full information. Please email us at kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
The family has tried best to meet Cory’s needs; however he is not thriving in his current home. They’ve made the difficult decision that they feel he would do better in a new home.
Cory absolutely loves playing and building with legos. He enjoys doing puzzles and could sit for hours working on them. He likes superheroes and talking about the different story lines. Cory enjoys interacting with people. He likes to help cook dinner and feels valued when he has the opportunity to help. His favorite food is homemade macaroni and cheese. Don’t even think about cooking him CRAFT. 🙂
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 is going to be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
