Description
Meet Autumn!
She’s a 14-year-old girl that was adopted internationally. She is in need of a new home. We call her Autumn, because we need to keep her name private. We are looking for a home study ready (or quickly updated) single or two parent household. The family would prefer a two-parent traditional household, but they are open to all families. LGBTQ families and singles are invited to reach out as well. Autumn has grown up in a Christian home, but the family is open to all religions. There are no preferences as to the age, location or employment of the new adoptive parent(s). Autumn has 3 siblings. She could be in a new family with siblings or as an only child.
Autumn has tied trauma that she experienced in her biological family to her current family. This has developed a severe lack of trust and bonding. The family has tried their best to meet her needs, but everyone believes that she would do better with a fresh start. Autumn is aware of the re-adoption and is hoping for siblings. All families with siblings will be considered on a case by case basis.
Autumn is into all things girly. She likes makeup and fashion. She enjoys helping in the kitchen baking cookies and cakes. She likes all types of music and enjoys having dance parties around the house. She likes animals and has several pets in her current home. She does well in school when she stays focused.
She is mostly an A and B student in school. She does struggle in math and will need a family that can advocate for her math services.
Autumn does well in structured environments and will need a home with consistent love and boundaries. She will need a family that will help her develop trust and enjoy having the family life that she’s meant to have.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 is going to be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
