Please meet Little Bridgette. She was born December of 2021. We are looking for a very special family for her adoption. Bridgette’s diagnoses say she has a syndrome of congenital anomalies with predominantly facial involvement. She also has specific disorders in the development of motor function. During January 2024, a staff member from our organization met Bridgette and said the following:
Bridgette sits, stands up and takes steps with the support of an adult. She sleeps peacefully and eats very well. She is fed pureed food with a spoon. She is developing well physically – she stands up on her own in her crib and moves along the fence of the bed. Bridgette has facial deformities, which are expressed in the absence of the left eyeball and the absence of the right ear. Despite the absence of the left eye and problems with the right, the girl sees and reacts to a given toy. Despite the lack of a right auricle, the child hears with the left ear as far as can be judged at this young age. Bridgette’s hearing as well as the auricle can be corrected after the age of 4-5 at which time she can tolerate surgery and placement of a cochlear implant. A small interventricular opening was found, which often closes on its own in children as they grow but must be monitored. She does not currently have heart failure or other heart problems. Various specialists work with Bridgette such as a rehabilitator, therapist, etc.
The personal opinion of the staff that met her: Bridgette is a sweet and lovable little girl who needs lots of love, attention, understanding, support and a lot of cuddles. Given the serious diagnoses, working with additional specialists would ease and help the child’s condition. She needs an extremely loving and supportive family.
