Description
Meet Asher!
Asher is a 9 year old boy that was adopted privately when he was younger. We call him Asher for his protection and to keep his real name private. He is in need of a new home due to lack of attachment and a trauma bond with a sibling. His family have decided to work with KidTeen Adoptions to try and find him a better fitting home. We are looking for a two parent household or a single parent household with a strong support network. We are looking for a family that is educated on attachment. The family is open to LGBTQ+ couples and individuals on a case by case basis. Asher would do best as the youngest in a new family, but families with younger children will be considered on a case by case basis. The family prefers a Christian family but is open to different religions or a non religious family if they are willing to honor Asher’s Christian’s upbringing and values. There is no preference on location, employment or age of the adoptive parent(s).
Asher is a very active child. He likes being outside playing on the trampoline or swing set. He enjoys playing soccer and is very determined and competitive when he plays. He’ll often be found kicking a soccer ball around outside. He really likes playing with his Hot Wheels cars and race tracks. He likes to put together puzzles and play board and card games. Asher has a big imagination. He likes to be creative and will draw/doodle pictures. Asher enjoys reading. Lately, he’s been reading books about dinosaurs, cars, or kids novels like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Asher likes playing with PLUS PLUS toys. They are like Legos but shaped differently. He will build or create all sorts of animals or towers with them.
Asher is described as helpful and sweet. He has great resilience and is able to adapt well to different situations. Asher is hardworking and is determined at the things he does. Asher is a social child. He likes to play. He rarely has a problem with anyone and his mother says he’s up for almost anything.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
