Description
Aaron is a Caucasian, 11-year-old boy adopted from foster care when he was 7-year-old. He is 52” tall and about 80.2 lbs. He has dark blonde hair, blue eyes, with a thick build. He is friendly, energetic, active, articulate, talkative, and polite.
He loves animals, especially dogs. He loves all things sports, being outside, sketching, and drawing. He is also helpful. He is eager to please and seeks approval from his caretakers and trusted adults. He is very social and loves to be with friends and do activities with them outside. He enjoys 3D printing as well.
Aaron is taking Risperidone twice a day for bi-polar and Atomoxetine once a day for his ADHD. They have found that the current dose is working better. Therapy has had a positive impact on his behavior. He also does better when he can be outside and be active. Aaron is on Medicaid and receives a that covers his therapy, he also receives a stipend to help with expenses.
The ideal family for Aaron would be a two-parent household. Having an older brother to play with would be beneficial. He would do well to be the youngest where he can receive one on one attention. He would do well with an active family that enjoys the outdoors. They prefer a Christian family, but open to non-religious families as well. They also would like a family that understands mental health, in particular Bi-polar and ADHD. They also request the adopting family not live in Florida.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
