We received updated photos, video and a social report from our attorney on 6-2-22. She says the following:
Vasili was born June of 2010. His diagnoses are Cerebral palsy, Spastic quadriparesis, Equinovarus on both feet, Converting strabismus of the left eye. Vasil is said to be one of the most radiant and happy positive children our attorney has ever seen. Despite his diagnoses, Vasili can move around by scooting and in a wheelchair. He can say about 20 words – car, bravo, come, come on, bread, water, and more. When he is hungry he says – bread; when he is thirsty – water; when he wants the toy he says – car. He understands every day speech and has adequate reactions to the speech. Vasili eats with an appetite shredded food.
Vasili likes to listen to music and watch children’s cartoons, to which he reacts emotionally. He understands the plot of animations like Tom and Jerry and reacts very emotionally to the jokes of the cat and the mouse. He understands simple instructions from an adult. He remembers and can “sing” a folk song they sang with another child (you can see that on the video) and reacts emotionally when he hears it. He claps his hands and says “well done” and rejoices at the praise of an adult. Vasili is very sociable and enjoys adult attention. He loves to be around children. He does not show aggression or anxiety.
Upon her recent visit, our attorney was very sad to see the state of neglect Vasili is in. He has not had a physical therapist working with him for over 8 months now and little by little he is losing the abilities and the strength in the muscles he was having before. He previously had therapy services and the love and care from an older lady on the staff who has sadly now retired. This has been very hard for Vasili. Vasili is a very smart child – he understands speech and can say many words. We believe he has a great potential if he goes into a loving family. He is in such a desperate need of a family that we are ready to reduce our fee for his adoption to the maximum possible in order to motivate a family adopt him. We have a full report on him that we would love to share with you upon your request and completing the parent eligibility form.
Here are 2 videos of Vasili that we made during the visit on 2 June 2022 – it is obvious from them how sweet and smart he is:
