Description
Meet Patrick!
Patrick is a 10-year-old boy who was adopted from the US foster care System. We call him “Patrick” because we need to keep his name private. Patrick is in need of a new home.
We are looking for a home study ready single dad or two-parent family (or one that can be done quickly). Patrick needs to be the only child or the youngest in the home by at least two years.
The family prefers a Christian home but has no preference for denomination. The family has no preferences as to location, age or employment.
If you fit what we are looking for, please write to us at and request his full information. kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
Patrick was adopted from the foster care system. He is the oldest child in his current family. Patrick has had a difficult relationship with his younger siblings, so a family where he can be the youngest or only child would be best.
The family tells us that Patrick is extremely intelligent. He does well in school getting all A’s and B’s and is at grade level.
Patrick loves reading and watching TV. He loves to ride his bike and wear his roller blades. He loves animals and really wants a dog of his own to take care of.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL, DE or WI. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If you haven’t started your home study, please contact us for information on how to begin one. However, if we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 is going to be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
