Description
There is a $5000 grant for this adoption to pay for the agency fee and part of the legal fee.
Noelle is 8 years old and was adopted privately. Most of her past trauma was unknown at the time of the first adoption and it caused issues in the home that we feel will be fairly simple to correct if placed into the correct home environment. Second Chance feels that Noelle will do well in a family where there are no kids close to her age to compete with for parental attention.
We are partnering with Noelle’s adopted family to locate a new adoptive home for her who has no other children under the age of 13. Noelle is athletic and sporty but also enjoys doing girlie things like getting her hair and nails done and baking and crafts. We’d love to find a new home for her with a mom (and possibly older sisters) who would have the time and energy to dote on this little girl.
Noelle’s current therapist feels that ongoing counseling for PTSD and anxiety will also be important for her.
Second Chance requires that every family who adopts through us has a current private homestudy (or one that can be updated within 3 weeks). If this fits you, please write to us for her full profile. We have lots of information to share with you about Noelle and her need for a different adoptive home.

Noelle is a bright and athletic girl. She likes to play soccer and basketball. She was recently chosen to be on an elite developmental soccer team—and has talked about being a professional player someday. She enjoys crafts like making jewelry and coloring and drawing. She does well in school and enjoys reading and math the most. While being athletic (as mentioned), she is also a girlie-girl who likes to have her nails painted, wearing dresses and dressing up for special occasions. She likes to help her grandma cook and bake. She also likes to help her teacher in the classroom with small tasks. Noelle usually likes things to be neat and orderly. She likes to do activities both inside and outside.
Noelle likes to swim, bird watch and ride her bike on the weekends. She has a great imagination and is very creative. She enjoys writing stories and sharing those stories with others.
Noelle is going into the 3rd grade. She is on grade level and very bright. She’s never had an IEP or behavioral plan. She is well liked by both teachers and peers. Noelle has typical 8-year-old girl relationships. She gets along well with her peers both at school and in their neighborhood and has friends in both places.
Noelle loves all animals and is very gentle with them. She is appropriately affectionate with friends and family. She is friendly with strangers if a parent is with her (for example: she will say ‘hi’ in reply to someone and may ask to pet someone’s dog if they are out in the neighborhood taking a walk).
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, OR, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, please let us know, as the adoption process may be longer and a bit more expensive than what is listed in our paperwork. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started! If you are a U.S. citizen living overseas, we may be able to work with you depending on a few details.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for.
If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
