Mac is an 11-year-old boy adopted from the US foster care system. We callhim “Mac” because we need to keep his name private.
We are looking for a single dad or two-parent family who is home study ready (or has one that can be updated quickly) where he will be the youngest child or only child in the family.
The family tells us that Mac has excellent at reading and spelling. He excels at math and science. He needs to be encouraged, but with support, he does very well in school.
The family has no preferences as to location, employment or age. They do prefer that the new family is Christian.
If you fit what we are looking for, please write to us and request his full information. kidteemadoptions@wiaa.org.
Mac loves to build with Legos and doing puzzles. He enjoys playing outside, riding his bike and scooter. He really loves reading.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study will not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL, orDE. If you live in WI, we can do placements but they have a few requirements that include three visits with the child. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If you haven’t started your home study, please contact us for information on how to begin one. However, if we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 is going to be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
