*Kyle is 7 years old, turning 8 in early 2022. He was adopted internationally. Kyle needs to be readopted into a family who has no other children younger than 10 and is able to accommodate his needs better. He does not function well as an older sibling; he definitely needs to be the youngest in his new home.
Kyle loves to go to church and learn about Jesus, so we are going to ask that his new family be a church-attending, Bible believing family who will continue to help Kyle grow in his relationship with God.
Second Chance requires that you have a current (or easily updated) homestudy that will work for a private adoption in your state. If this fits your family, please write to us for the fully story of why Kyle needs a Second Chance in a different kind of adoptive home. Please write to email@example.com .
Kyle LOVES to read and is currently reading level one early reader books). His favorite books are about superheroes and Star Wars. He also enjoys animal books about sharks, dinosaurs, and lizards. He really enjoys looking through his picture Bibles (he has several). He is a typical boy who loves riding his bike and scooter. His books are among his favorite possessions, especially now that he can attempt reading them by himself. He loves to run and play. He also really loves stuffed animals and has a large collection of them. Some are weighted. He likes to take them with him on car rides and sleep with them. He switches which is his favorite on a weekly basis, although his most favorite is a teddy bear named Corduroy (from the book). He also likes Mu-chu from the movie Mulan. Kyle is more content with toys made for 3-5 year olds than his own age. For instance, he loves fisher price little people and prefers the ‘toddler’ version of super hero toys. One of his favorite activities is to bring you a pretend menu and then make you food, like at a restaurant. He also likes monster trucks and tonka trucks that he can lean over and push with both hands.
Kyle’s family tells us that he is funny and asks really good questions. He is obsessed with the Band “For King and Country”, especially their Christmas music. He loves watching TV and movies, especially if they have songs. He loves singing. Kyle loves to keep a beat; music is a vital part of his day. He feels especially important when he gets to pick the radio station or song in the car. His adopted dad jokes that Kyle is tone deaf but will sing loudly anyway!
Kyle loves to run—he will probably be a track and field star in school when he’s older.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY, OR or DE. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started! We are only able to work with US citizens living abroad if they are active duty military.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
