Description
Meet Karter and Khloe!
*Karter and *Khloe are 5-year old twins who were adopted from foster care. Their first adoption is not working out and their family has made the difficult decision to find a different adoptive family for them. The twins will be placed together into a new adoptive family.
The twins just finished Pre-K this year and are progressing well. Khloe loves reading the most in school. Karter prefers art and is very good at it!
Khloe is outgoing, loves to laugh and help at school and home, loves to play with friends, loves girly things including anything pink, princess, dressy or dress-up. She shows compassion for others. She loves to play house, especially pretending to be the mother. She enjoys dancing to children’s dance videos on tv, participating in dance and gymnastic classes, having tea parties and cooking in her play kitchen. She enjoys having books read to her and loves to learn. She wants to be either a princess or a space-girl when she grows up!
Karter can be charming, charismatic, fun-loving and silly—he loves to make people laugh. He is good at coloring and drawing and enjoys art a lot. He enjoys making pictures to give to his teachers. He also enjoys being a helper both at school and home. He loves superheroes and talks about being a hero when he grows up. He loves anything to do with firefighters and has always stated he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up too! He enjoys playing with his play kitchen and also helping cook real food. He likes to dance to YouTube children’s videos. He loves to read, especially Dr. Seuss and has several of the books memorized including Cat in the Hat, Fox in Sox, 1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and Oh the Places You’ll Go.
Second Chance has worked closely with the first adoptive parents to set some requirements for the new adoptive family: the twins’ new family should have a strong support system (including a strong healthy relationship with one another), as the needs of the children for support as they continue to heal may be exhausting—remember this is x2 with twins! This 2-parent family must have a strong male figure (a stay-at-home dad would be wonderful!) and only one other child over the age of 9, in the home. Priority will be given to families with prior older-child adoption experience—if this is you, please let us know that when you write for their additional information. Please write to secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org and ask for the twins’ full profile.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, OR, or DE.
If you have never had a homestudy before, we cannot help you adopt these children. But, we would love to share with you the process of starting a homestudy so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
