Judah – Placed

Meet Judah!

*Judah is 9 years old and was adopted internationally.

He has several rare genetic disorders including SET BP1, SET D5 and MED 13L which were not disclosed before his adoption. His family is hoping that another more experienced family will adopt him and provide better support than they are able to give. We are looking for a new adoptive family for Judah who has a current home study (or one that can be easily updated) with other children over the age of 11 or under age 6 (if you have time and a comfort level with disabilities. A smaller family might be best. More on about this in his profile which you can get by writing to us.) Please write to us if you’d like to read Judah’s full profile and learn more about being approved for a Second Chance adoption. Write to [email protected] .

Judah’s family says he is a happy and loving little boy with a zest for life. He gets excited about everything and loves to be right in the middle of the action. He is a good helper in the kitchen. Judah is a pretty adaptable child who fits into whatever is going on. He is very good with younger children and babies—helping to keep them safe and watching them closely. He LOVES other kids and is very bonded to his siblings and plays happily with other children whenever he gets a chance. His family says even though he’s mostly non-verbal, he finds lots of ways of getting his point across with a mixture of word approximations, sign language (he knows about 100 signs so far) and gestures. He learns routines very easily and is able to follow directions. He is always happy to go to school and is well liked by his teachers and peers. Some of his favorite activities are playing on the trampoline, riding his scooter, running races, playing tag and playing hide and go seek. Judah likes to help around the house and helping people. He loves to eat all kinds of foods and fruits, veggies, spaghetti and watermelon are some of his favorites.

We are looking for a family who can give Judah the personal time and attention he needs and is able to get him to all the therapy sessions he need. You need to have the therapies readily available where you live.

If you have a current (or easily updated home study), meet the other requirements listed, and would like to know more about adopting Judah, please write back to us at [email protected] and ask for his ‘additional info’. We have more records to share with you as well as our process of being approved for a Second Chance adoption. Please write to us!

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, or DE. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!

Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.

Please allow us at least 2 business days to respond to your email—if it’s been longer than that, please check that you spelled our email address correctly [email protected] and also check your ‘junk’ folder for our response, as sometimes our replies are treated as junk mail.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
