Description
Meet Jade!
*Jade just turned 10 and was adopted domestically with a sibling. As is common with Second Chance kids, Jade and her sibling share a trauma bond from their first few years of life that has prevented the healing she needs to find. Jade is unhappy and unattached in this home and her adopted family has partnered with us to find a different kind of family for her. We are looking for a homestudy ready family (or one who can be ready quickly) with no other children in the home under age 12.
Jade would do great with a single mom or a traditional 2-parent home. She loves Jesus and she wants her new family to bemainstream Christian family who attends church and will continue to teach her about God’s love Jade is absolutely crazy about horses and all kinds of animals, so if you have horses or access to them, please let us know!
If you fit what we’re looking for, please write to us at secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org and request her ‘full profile’.
Jade loves animals and loves working with them! She thrives in the barn. She is responsible, shows good self-control and is very caring wherever animals are concerned! Jade is very energetic and can be athletic. Jade loves to swim, fish, sled, ice skate, play games, ride her bike, scooter, and trampoline. Jade is loving, caring, giving of her toys and treasures, and shares well with others. She has simplistic joy about life, noticing little flowers, and listening to birds sing. She loves to sing, and is good at remembering lyrics (enjoy the sweet video below of her singing). As you can see in her photo, she has a beaming smile. Jade is affectionate and caring, and likes to write notes to those she loves. She really enjoys one-on-one connection with others. She likes to do projects together. Her favorite color is yellow and she likes all kinds of food (except broccoli!) She is adventurous in foods, but especially loves biscuits and gravy.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize this adoption. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started! We are only able to work with US citizens living abroad if they are active duty military.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
