Please welcome Goldie who is new to our advocacy list. Goldie was born June of 2009 and is said to be a sweet and smart girl. She is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Goldie gets around in a wheelchair. Information from January 2024 says the following: Goldie seeks more adult attention as well as physical contact and likes to talk with an adult. She engages in general games and sensory therapy. She responds to her name when called. She loves to sing and laugh. Aggressive and auto-aggressive manifestations are not observed. She executes both short, as well as more complex commands. When she needs attention, she expresses it with a sad face and silence.
Goldie engages in group and solo games. She likes to be part of something common and to share. She likes playing with plasticine and modeling clay, as well as sensory panels. She likes to play with an older person. In the academic year 2023/2024, Goldie is in the 8th grade. Her favorite subjects are music and literature. Goldie knows how to count to 10 and knows the alphabet and she recognizes colors. She partially self-cares (brushes hands and teeth) but also needs the care of staff. She says she would love to have her own family. Could YOU be that family? For more information contact kathy@wiaa.org. Grant funding is available for qualifying families.
