Description
Meet Fern!
*Fern is turning 5 soon and was adopted from US foster care.
Fern is adorable! She likes to sing, dress up, and paint with water colors. She is a happy child most of the time. In school, Fern has lots of friends. Kids seem to love her and flock to her. She is progressing in school—she memorizes songs easily, can write her first name, can count to 30, and knows some letters. Her family and teachers feel that she has typical learning abilities.
Fern doesn’t have much experience with animals, but seems scared of dogs and cats—and especially bugs!
Her adopted family is hoping to find a secondary adoptive family where Fern can be the youngest child by at least 4-5 years. We will consider a family whose youngest child is at least 10 years old and mature enough to handle a younger sibling who needs a lot of positive attention. A two-parent home would be great for Fern, but not required!
This is a private direct-consent adoption. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. We can sometimes accept a foster-care study if you live in Washington State. If you have never had a homestudy, we cannot approve you for this child’s adoption—but, can help you get started with the homestudy process. We would love to be a part of your adoption story, so please write to us for more information on our process! Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
