Description
Meet Lincoln!
He’s a 10-year-old boy that was adopted through foster care when he was younger. Lincoln is in need of a new home. Lincoln is aware of this situation and both he and his parents recognize that he needs a different family that he can connect with and help him get his needs met. Even though he will be sad, Lincoln has expressed underlying excitement and curiosity. He would love to one day have a dirt bike or pet chihuahua in his new home.
We are looking for a two-parent household or single father figure with a strong support network. Parents prefer a traditional household but would be open to non-traditional households on a case-by-case basis. Lincoln would do best as the youngest or only child. Size matters to him and is considered competition. Families with siblings will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Lincoln does better with a masculine/father figure. He respects them and his behaviors are more in check around them. Lincoln does appreciate the gentleness of women/feminine figures though. The family prefers a Christian family but are open to other religions or non-religious if the family can be supportive of Lincoln’s faith. They prefer that the new family live in a different state other than Michigan. There is no preference as to the age and employment of the new adoptive parent(s).
Lincoln is described as creative, curious, intelligent, compassionate towards animals, adventurous, helpful and silly. He likes being outside riding his bike. He hopes to one day be able to ride and own a dirt bike. Lincoln likes to play with toy cars and push them around in the dirt. He is an active boy and likes playing sports like basketball, football and baseball. He loves animals and his favorite animal is a rabbit. Lincoln has dogs in his current home and hopes to have his own dog to care for in the future.
Lincoln is social and does well academically in school. He’s charming and gets along with peers and others.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
