Description
Meet Cadi!
*Cadi is 8.5 years old and was adopted out of foster care. She was adopted into a large family who is not able to have eyes and ears on her as much as she needs to stay safe. She has wandering and eating issues that need to be monitored more closely than what this large rural family is able to keep up with. They have made the very difficult decision to partner with Second Chance to find a smaller, better fitting family for Cadi. Please write to secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org and request her full profile.
Cadi is a helpful, cheerful child who prefers routine and a set schedule. She has a good memory for people, places and events—her memory is sharp and she excels at working complicated puzzles which she will do for hours on end. She also likes to color and create art to give to people as gifts. She likes listening to music and singing or dancing along to it. Cadi likes to chatter about all kinds of things. She is very fond of smaller children and wants to try to help them and take care of them. In a quiet environment, she is a happy and relaxed wonderful child to be around.
Cadi seems to be safe around pets and will sit quietly and pet very sweetly.
Cadi has completed 2nd grade work in most subjects and is on target. She reads at a 3rd grade level. Her reading, spelling and penmanship are all on target.
We are looking for a small Protestant Christian family whose faith is central to their life, and who has no other children under age 13. Cadi enjoys going to church every week and also attending Awana. This family could either be a 2-parent traditional home or a single mom with a strong support system. Cadi needs to have structure and reliability, with little deviation in schedule. She does best with clear rules and expectations. Second Chance will also require the new family have a current homestudy or one that can be easily updated. Please write to secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org for more info on Cadi if you fit these requirements.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will
need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY or DE. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize this adoption. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
