Description
Meet Lacie!
*Lacie is 8 years old and was adopted from Africa when she was 3.
Lacie likes to read, draw (if you request her profile, we have shared a few of her drawings), watch movies, ride her bike, and take walks. She enjoys visiting the library and will bring home stacks of books to look at—she takes very good care of her books too! Lacie tends to be quiet. She is obedient for adults, especially when she knows they’re watching. She does her chores with a good attitude, but does need some prompting to stay on task. She enjoys working as a team, and does a good job on whatever she’s asked to do. She is never hateful or rude and never talks back. She likes to laugh, and takes good care of her belongings.
She has a small circle of friends at church and seems to get along well with them. She isn’t physically affectionate with others, but will hug her family.
In home school, Lacie does well. She is currently doing 3rd and 4th grade work. She doesn’t struggle with any subjects and loves to read the most. She races through books like Junie B. Jones. She learned to read very quickly, and is mostly an ‘A’ student. She just finished 4th grade social studies and language arts. She’s a smart girl!
Lacie does well by herself, but would rather be with others—she would enjoys having a sibling or two in her new family. We hope to find a family who has no other children between ages 6-10 for her—this family could have maybe one child younger than this and a few older. A single mom with no other children would probably be nice for Lacie too.
Please write to us at secondchanceinfo@wiaa.org and ask for Lacie’s “full profile” if you’d like to learn more about her and our process for being approved for her adoption. We’d like to share with you! Please write to us!
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
