*Venice was adopted last year from overseas by a family who has one biological infant. She is 6 ½ years old.
Venice is described by her adoptive family as being observant, imaginative, creative, independent, friendly, and talkative. She love to play outside and enjoys physical activity. She is a mostly happy child, always looking for the positive side of things. She doesn’t let circumstances bring her down. Venice doesn’t really care for dolls; she prefers Legos and outdoor activities like playing on the playground, drawing with chalk on the sidewalk, and playing soccer. She does enjoy drawing and coloring during quiet time.
Venice is in Kindergarten and doing really well considering she’s only been learning English for a year. Her teacher says she’s above grade-level in some subjects already! She can count to 100, and recognizes all capital letters; she’s still working on her lower-case letters. She is very receptive to learning, learns quickly, and enjoys learning. She is also enrolled in an after-school program and gets all her extra energy out there. She has lots of friends at school—children and adults all like her and enjoy her company. She enjoys engaging adults in conversation and they seem to enjoy her too!
Do you feel you can offer Venice the fresh start she needs in a new, different family environment? If so, please write to us at [email protected] and ask for her full profile. We have lots of school, medical and therapy records to send you. We would like Venice to be the youngest in her new adoptive family and are asking for a family with no other children under age 9.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
