Toby – PLACED
Toby is a 9 year old boy who has lived with his adoptive parents most of his life. His adoptive parents took in medically fragile children from the hospital, so when Toby was born he came to this home in Oregon. His IQ is normal.
From birth to kindergarten, he seemed on track developmentally, and did not qualify or need any early intervention services. Now he has been passed by the school to grade 4, but his mother thinks he would do best in a homeschool or at least repeating third grade again.
Kids like Toby love to run and play outdoors, so a farm type home would be a great match. He struggles when he is with older boys, and it is believed he would do best in a home without a brother older than he is. Currently his family is fairly large, made up of other adopted and biological siblings.
Toby is not violent, does not have angry outbursts or tantrums.
His hand eye coordination is excellent and he can make any kind of complicated Lego structure that he sees in a book or in his imagination. He enjoys music, dance, swimming, soccer, and a host of other activities.
Toby needs a family that is rather small and an environment that does not have high expectations. It would be best if his new family did not have any children younger than Toby and did not have boys older than Toby.
Due to the state laws, we are not able to place him in NY, CO, IL, CT, MA, NV, ND, or DE. If you would like to receive additional information on him, please contact us at second[email protected]
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster homestudy would not work unless they would release it for a private adoption. A private domestic or international homestudy would be required. There are no ongoing monthly subsidies with this adoption. Adoption is a legal process so there are costs for this adoption. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit if there are any remaining expenses. Toby has a monthly adoption subsidy which should be able to be transferred to the new family.
