*Tatum just turned 8 in February and is in the 2nd grade. She was adopted at age three from Ethiopia by a family who has three older biological boys and one younger adopted child. Tatum is friendly, conscientious, smart, and has a great sense of humor. She gets mostly A’s with a few B’s sprinkled in. Her teachers say she’s focused, engaged and enthusiastic about learning. She works well with partners and in small groups, and “is a thoughtful participant in whole class discussions”.
Tatum is affectionate with those around her. She likes to hug and say “I love you”.
Tatum prefers company over solitary time. She will engage in just about any activity as long as there are others involved—especially adults. She likes to read, color, do crafts, play games, draw, run, and swim—she’s been on the swim team and really enjoyed it. She also loves to be outside.
Tatum’s family is open to all different types of families, as long as the new family does not have other children under age 10.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, MO, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
