Steven recently turned 4 and has beautiful brown eyes and the sweetest chubby cheeks! He was adopted last year from an Asian country by a family with 6 other children older than him, including another child who has serious medical issues and requires a lot of attention.
His family reports that he is calm, gentle, and friendly. He gets along well with other children and pets. He tends to be shy at first but is friendly when around familiar people. He is very calm and not hyper at all. He loves to look at books and can stay focused on the same activity for long periods of time. He enjoys school and church.
Steven goes to preschool and has an IEP. His academic achievement reports that he knows his colors and shapes; he is able to catch a ball using both hands, run, jump, walk backwards; attach common words to objects; climb stairs using a railing to hold onto and throw a ball at a target (both overhand and underhand).
His current adoptive family is seeking a new adoptive family for him who will have the time and energy to help him be as successful as possible as he grows.

We generally do not place a child into a home that already has children within 2 years of the SC child’s age. For Steven, this means no other children in the home younger than 6. We are specifically looking for a family who has no children younger than him so he will receive the attention he deserves.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in FL, CT, MA, or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there are costs for this adoption including travel to his state for a couple days to bring him home. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
