Skyler was adopted at age 4 1/2 and is now 8. He was severely burned before he was 8 months old and brought to the orphanage; the cause is unknown Skyler was then adopted into a home where he has five siblings that are all birth children in the home whose ages are closely clustered around his age, both older and younger. With a young baby as well as other children, they realize that they are unable to handle the various needs that Skyler has. Write to us for more info at [email protected]
Skyler’s family thought they were adopting a little boy who needed treatment for burn scars, but instead they found themselves with a little boy who has other needs as well.
Skyler has been in both public and home school. He is very smart, reads well, has not needed an IEP. He is not on any medication. He has extremely good penmanship for a child his age. He is good at math and enjoys science. Skyler is kind to pets.
A home with no children younger than his age or at least no boys near his age is being sought. A homeschooled family with maybe a couple girls might be best. Possibly a teen age boy in the home would be ok.
A family needs to have adequate health insurance for his various needs.
Skyler loves to play with toy cars, trucks, and tractors. He runs fast and recently won a race of kids his age. He learned to ride a bike when he first came home at age 4. He is not super rambunctious
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in FL, NY, CT, MA, NV, ND or DE.

Adoption is a legal process so there are some costs for this adoption. The adoption qualifies for the IRS Tax Credit which should cover all the expenses.
