Description
Meet Riley
Riley is a 14-year-old girl that was adopted internationally. She has struggled with bonding and attachment in her current family. She is not thriving in her current home and is hoping to find a new family where she can be successful. She is aware of the adoption and is looking forward to getting to know a new family.
We are looking for a two parent or single mother household. The family prefers a traditional family. Riley would do well as the youngest in a new family but siblings will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The family prefers a Christian family since Riley enjoys church and Sunday school. There is no preference as to the location, age or employment of the new family. Riley absolutely loves animals and has said that she would enjoy living on a farm. Families with a lot of land or animals are invited to inquire.
Riley is described as helpful and bubbly. In school, Riley will need extra support academically but she does very well socially. Her teachers adore her and it’s easy for her to make friends, especially other girls around her same age. Riley enjoys singing, dancing and gymnastics. She likes reading books about different fairy tales, journaling and creative writing. She enjoys being outside. She has a gift for caring for animals. Birds are her favorite. In the past, she has cared for parakeets. She has also done a horse-riding camp and really enjoyed that. The family believes she would do well in a busy/active family because she likes to explore and will enjoy being involved in things.
If you fit what we are looking for, please write to us and request her full information. Please email us at kidteenadoptions@wiaa.org
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
