Micah was adopted from Africa a year and a half ago and is struggling in his placement. He is age 8, almost 9. He has asked his parents for a new start in a new home so we are trying to help find him a Second Chance.
The family feels that Micah needs a new home without any siblings within 4 years of his age so that Micah can be in a family where he feels no need to compete or stand “above” another child in the home.
His mother has been homeschooling him and has seen great strides. He is currently in second grade. Micah is quiet. He does not have any angry outbursts and does not try to hurt anyone. No psychological tests have been done , but he seems to have good intuition and is very good at reading expressions on faces.
He likes to color, draw and loves camping. He is easily content with very little. He has come a long way since he came to America.
He brushes his teeth, dresses himself. In some ways, he still needs help like selecting clothing appropriate for the outside temperature.
Ideally, we are looking for a two parent home, with one parent who stays home.
Micah’s health is very good. His teeth were poor when he came but many dental appointments later, his teeth are now in good condition now.
Due to some state laws, we are not able to place him in NY, CO, CT, MA, NV, ND, or DE. If you would like to receive additional information on him, please contact us at [email protected]
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster homestudy would not work unless they would release it for a private adoption. A private domestic or international homestudy would be required. There are no ongoing monthly subsidies with this adoption.
Adoption is a legal process so there are costs for this adoption. This adoption full qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
