Kamree – Placed
*Kamree is just turning 8 and was adopted internationally.
Kamree is intelligent and her ability to observe, think and process is far above her years. Many have described her as an ‘old soul’. She can be a chatterbox and silly and likes to laugh. She is not athletic, as she is a bit uncoordinated and clumsy (and also does NOT like to sweat!)—she is able to ride a bike and scooter but hasn’t got the hang of jump-rope or hula-hooping yet. She does like to go outside to play and go on outings but prefers sedentary activities. She is a voracious reader (far above grade level) and has recently been devouring Harry Potter! Kamree enjoys arts, crafts and going to the library. She likes family games like Uno and singing. Her family reports that she is a fun-loving girl with a witty, good sense of humor. She likes to hang out with friends and listen to music and sing and dance. She is not shy about meeting new friends and has a desire to go out and do things. Kamree gets along well with friends and her teacher say she is very popular and well-liked at school. Her favorite color is yellow. She likes all kinds of foods—especially sweets but will eat veggies if encouraged. Kamree is a girlie-girl who likes pretty clothes, painting nails, and wearing lip gloss. She likes to listen to Christian music and watch Veggie Tales. She loves animals and pets.
She is self-motivated in school and takes responsibility for staying on top of her schoolwork on her own and does very well. She is finishing up the 2nd grade and does excellent in school. She reads far above standard for her age. She is a smart girl. Reading is her favorite subject and she shows great comprehension and recall.
The only requirement we have for Kamree’s new family is that they have no other children in the home under age 10.
If you have no other children in your home under age 10, have a current home study (or one that can be updated quickly), and are interested in learning more about adopting Kamree, please write back to us at [email protected] and ask for her ‘additional information’. We’d love to share more info on her and our process of being preapproved for her adoption.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, or DE. If you live in OR, you may have to travel to Kamree’s state for finalization of this adoption. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But, we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.

*To protect the privacy of our waiting children and their families, Second Chance does not share real names for our waiting children on the Internet. It is our policy to only share a snippet of a waiting child’s details as well as the type of adoptive family we are looking for. If you fit the POSTED REQUIREMENTS, are home study ready (or can be soon!), and interested in adding this child to your family, please write to us for an honest, in-depth profile on the child including medical, educational, and behavioral information and learn the full story of why this child needs a secondary adoption. Our program social worker and program director have worked together with the child’s family to carefully set the requirements for the new family. These requirements are not negotiable, so please honor the needs of this child by not asking us to bend them for you.
