Jayden – Placed
Jayden (age 11) is being relisted because he has shown such wonderful improvement in his behavior since we first listed him. Jayden has been living in a residential treatment facility since March 2015. The facility reports that Jayden “is a very different child than he was 8 months ago” when he arrived there.
Jayden enjoys being outdoors, riding bikes or swimming. He is adventurous and is always up for trying new things. If you’re familiar with The Love Language’s books, Jayden’s current adoptive mom thinks that his primary love language is Quality Time. He likes to listen to stories and has great comprehension. He also has a good sense of humor and is polite and helpful. He is good with younger children and wants to be helpful with them. His current program reports that he is a good influence on the other children he’s around. He likes animals (and has never hurt one) but tends to be allergic to dogs. He recently received “student of the month” and “student of the school” awards!
We have a huge amount of material about Jayden available. If you ask, we will email it to you!
The Second Chance program will not place a child into a home where there is already a child within 2 years of the new child’s age. For Jayden this means no children between ages 10-12. We are willing to make exceptions for a 1-year age difference if the family has had prior older-child adoption experience—please let us know if you do! We think that Jayden will do well in a family who has children older and younger than him. Jayden REALLY wants a dad who will take him fishing, teach him sports and spend quality time with him; therefore, we would like to have families with a dad apply to adopt him (a single dad would be fine too!).
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in NY, CT, MA, or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there are some costs for this adoption. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit. Contact us at [email protected]
