Jacob – Placed

Jacob is a very handsome 11 year old boy adopted privately in the US as part of a sibling group (three children total) when he was 4 years old. He has mixed heritage including Caucasian, Puerto Rican and African American. He and his 2 younger siblings, and they were all adopted by the same family. He currently lives with his two younger biological siblings in a 2 parent family with a stay-at-home mom.  They lived internationally for a few years but are back in the US now. His adopted dad has traveled extensively, leaving Jacob in the care of his mom. Jacob is the one who needs a new adoption and a new family who will commit to helping him keep in future appropriate contact with his other siblings.

Jacob is very outgoing and will easily jump into to conversations and group games with others. He likes spur-of-the-moment games like tag or football on the playground. He has no problems with walking into new situations or meeting new people. He has a very confident and easy-going personality.  Jacob loves to swim. He is very energetic and athletic, but can also be calm and quiet when, for example, watching a movie.

Jacob can be very helpful and kind, especially to younger children. He likes to help around the house, bringing in groceries for example. He likes to pick flowers for his mom (he did this for his birth mom also). He loves to sing…anytime, anywhere…regardless of his mood. He picks up lyrics very easily and loves to sing along to the radio. This boy really loves to SING! He also enjoys puzzles, even the 1000-piece ones!

His mom reports that he is very smart: an A and B student in school. He excels without having to try. He tested very high in science on standardized testing.

Again, his adoptive parents, along with the therapist, feel that a fresh start for Jacob will make a world of difference.

Second Chance is hoping to find a new adoptive family for Jacob that has no other children under the age of 13. This is a guideline we will not bend. His current family feels that he will thrive in a new home, given a second chance! If you are interested in learning more about this young man, please email us! We have copies of Jacob’s medical and other records we would like to share with you.
