Description
Meet Devin
Devin is a 12-year old boy that was adopted through foster care. He is in need of a home that can provide him with more consistent care and attention. His single parent is unable to provide for his specific needs. Devin’s family have decided to partner with KidTeen Adoptions to try and find him a different home where he’ll be more successful.
We are looking for a two parent home or single parent home with a strong support network. Devin would do best as an only child or the youngest in his new family. Families with younger children will be considered on a case by case basis. Devin would do well with emotionally stable siblings. Heterosexual and LGBTQ+ couples and individuals are invited to inquire. There is no preference on the religion, location or age of the new adoptive parent(s). The family would prefer a stay at home parent or work from home parent. Devin craves individual attention and would do best in a family that can give him more of that one on one time.
Devin is described as having a big heart. He is thoughtful and caring, especially when given individual attention. Devin is an active, extroverted child. He is adventurous and likes to participate in different activities. His family will go on “adventure days” where they go hiking or exploring. Devin loves to travel. Devin likes to be outside riding his bike or swimming.
Devin likes reading. His favorite books and movies are fantasy or anything Harry Potter. He has taken guitar lessons in the past and really enjoyed that. Devin would benefit from being able to continue with guitar or learn a different instrument in a new home. Devin is described as smart, creative and innovative. He is really good at “thinking outside of the box” when it comes to ideas, games, or artwork. He enjoys drawing, making art and crafts. Devin is really good with his hands. Devin is a social child and has done well academically in school. He is currently a year ahead in school and gets good grades.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption. We have made recent connections in FL that could potentially make it possible to place in that state. Please contact us for more information.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 could be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
