Description
This is Carly!
Carly is a 12-year-old girl that was adopted through foster care when she was younger. She is in need of a new home. She is struggling in her current family dynamics and requires more attention than her family is able to provide. She wishes to be the youngest in the family. We are looking for a two-parent household or single parent with a strong support network. The family would prefer a traditional heterosexual family but is willing to be open to LGBTQ+ couples and individuals on a case-by-case basis. They just want a good family for Carly. Carly would do best as the youngest child in a new family. If a family has a younger son, then they will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Carly would do better without younger sisters as she sees them as too much competition. The family would prefer a Christian family since she enjoys going to Sunday school, but they would be open to a family of a different religion or non-religious IF they supported Carly in her faith. The family believes that Carly would do really well in an LDS family. There is no preference on the location or employment of the new adoptive parent(s). There is no preference to the age of the parent(s), but we are looking for parents with some experience. The family is willing to offer the new family a scholarship to go towards therapy/healing for Carly’s future.
When Carly is given undivided attention by her parents then she does very well. She is said to be charming with strangers and her teachers say she is a joy at school. Carly can be a shy child, but is very expressive and chatty once she has warmed up to someone. Carly is compassionate and is the type of person to put others needs before hers. She could use help with building confidence and recognizing how special she is.
Carly is described as an old soul. Her family jokes with her that she was born in the wrong era. She is smitten with all things old-fashioned. She loves knitting and would choose to knit all night by the fire if given the opportunity. Carly loves sewing and making crafts. She enjoys flower arranging, gardening and dressing up. She has often helped her parents decorate or set up the house for special occasions. She has a helper personality and LOVES to be your right-hand person.

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster care home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need a current, updated or new home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are unable to place this child in CT, MA, NY, FL, or DE. If you live in WI, there are a few steps that have to be followed, but it is possible to adopt from there. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state to finalize the adoption.
If we have home study ready families for this child, we will consider them first. Therefore, if you are willing to take a child between the ages of 9 and 15, we suggest you begin the process as soon as possible.
We know that adopting a child over the age of 9 is going to be difficult, but we feel confident that there are parents of all types, single men and women, traditional couples and same-sex couples out there who love kids and would love to add them to their families.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated with them. There are grants out there to help fund your adoption (please request that information.) This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
