Brady – Placed

Brady recently turned 4. Isn’t he adorable? He was born in a large Eastern European country that is no longer doing adoptions, then adopted by a U.S. family in NY when he was 14 months.

Brady was born at 36 weeks. He was in a hospital until he was moved to an orphanage.

Before they adopted him, Brady’s parents had a well-known adoption pediatrician evaluate his pictures and video and she felt that he did not have any big red flags.  His current family has other biological children, and Brady needs more individual attention than they can provide.  That is why we are looking for a new home.

When he was younger he was more affectionate and enjoyed hugs, but as he got older, he is not quite so affectionate.

Brady likes electronics and uses an iPad in his therapeutic school.

As we see in nearly all our Second Chance children, Brady behaves much better for his father than his mother.

Brady has a short attention span.  Because of his age, he is not yet diagnosed with anything and is not on any medication.

Brady seems to do best with one-on-one attention. His IQ and cognitive skills are within the normal, typical range.

Right before Brady’s 2nd birthday, his father was injured at work.  Until then Brady was having Early Intervention at home to help him with his post institutional delays.  But when the father was injured, and had many months of recovery, the family put Brady into daycare because they could not give him the care he needed.

His older siblings are biological in the home, so Brady is the only adopted child.

Brady needs to go to a home who does not have any younger children or children younger than age 6 or 7 who are able to be flexible and tolerate an extremely active, excitable younger brother.

Please email us back if you would like to see copies of this child’s medical and other records and learn more about him.  Because he is only 4, we do not have a lot of records on him.  Email [email protected]

This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required.  Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NV, ND or DE.

Adoption is a legal process so there are some costs for his adoption and travel to his east coast state for a couple days to bring him home.  This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit which should help defray most or all of the costs. Contact us at [email protected]
