*Ava will be is six and was adopted 4 years ago from Eastern Europe. Ava is very loving and sweet. She is affectionate and loves to be hugged and tickled. She makes great eye contact and interacts well with others.
Ava loves water! She needs water wings or a life jacket if the water is deep. She can hold her breath for up to 10 seconds and likes to lie in the bathtub completely immersed! She also loves to swing—she will swing for hours! She is very motherly and has a special baby doll that she takes good care of. She also enjoys Little People toys and her wire maze with wooden beads. Sorting things is fun for Ava too: give her a bucket of beads or buttons and she will sort them out by color. She likes 30 piece puzzles—she will do them over and over again until she has each piece’s place memorized and can put it together quickly. Ava loves art—painting, coloring, pasting—so much that she does it at least once a day!
She uses an IPad with a special program on it to help her communicate. This program has tabs for her to ask questions and make her needs known. She recognizes numbers up to 100 and can count and write 1-20. If you put several papers on a table with numbers printed on them, she can match up objects and numbers: for example, she will place 3 beads on the #3 and 9 beads on the #9. She has lots of friends in school. She is petite and so sweet and happy, everyone wants to be around her and likes her.

We cannot place a Second Chance (SC) child into a home that already has children within 2 yrs of the SC child’s age. For Ava, this means no other children in the home between the ages of 4-8). We will sometimes make an exception for a one year age difference if a family has prior older-child adoption experience, so please let us know if that is you. We feel that Ava would do well in a family who has both older and younger children (as long as they don’t fall within the guidelines), so please write to us!
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY, MO, or DE. Special note: if you live in FL, please let us know right away, as there may be other expenses associated with this adoption.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
