*Amara is 9 years old and was adopted internationally. She needs a new American family to adopt her.
Amara is a very easy-going child who rarely complains, and is usually upbeat and positive. She is the primary caregiver to the family’s pets—she loves them so much! She loves to play outside, ride her bike, color, and is a great swimmer. She is very strong and athletic, and extremely fast—like, Olympic potential fast! She loves to read (Junie B. books are some of her favorites). Amara is thoughtful and kind to others, and enjoys playing with little children too. She prefers concrete play like workbooks, crossword puzzles, and connect-the-dots, over imaginary play. She shows empathy when others cry. Her favorite foods are chicken nuggets, pizza and nachos! Amara is always on the move, has a great attitude, and loves to talk to anyone who will listen. She is not shy or reserved! She enjoys being affectionate with her family members, and reserves her affection for them—she knows and understands stranger-danger.
Amara’s favorite thing in the whole world is SCHOOL! She would live there 12 months out of the year if possible. She is in the 3rd grade and works hard academically.
We are looking for a new adoptive family for Amara who has no other children under age 12 and the best family would have one or two older daughters who could be good role models for her. If your family meets these requirements and you are interested in adoption Amara, please write to us at [email protected] and ask for Amara’s full profile. We would love to share with you the process to adopt her!
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be financial costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
