*Adam turned 7 recently and was adopted out of US foster care when he was 3 years old. Adam’s story is frustrating and sad. The ‘system’ completely failed this little boy along with irreparably damaging his attachment to his adopted family. Due to clerical errors he was removed MULTIPLE TIMES from his pre-adoptive home and returned to his foster home and his bio home before the adoption occurred. There was neglect in both of those homes. His trust in his adoptive home was hurt from the beginning as they ‘gave him back’ into negative and traumatic situations.
In his adoptive home, he has also been artificially ‘twinned’ to another child in the home and well as having a younger child in the home. We are hoping that we can find Adam a new adoptive home where he can start fresh—no memories of being ‘returned’ to neglective caretakers and no one close to his age for competition. He deserves to capture the spotlight of his parents, to get the attention he’s craved and missed out on.
Second Chance has partnered with Adam’s family to find a Christian family (active in their faith, Bible believing), either traditional two parent home or single mom with a good support system and time for him who has no other children under age 9. Adam has a deep personal interest for knowing and understanding God’s love for him. He loves to read his Bible and has asked Jesus into his heart. He asks important questions about God, heaven and the Bible.
We think that Adam would love to have an older brother or two. We require that you have a current homestudy, or one that can be quickly updated. If this fits your family, please write to us and request his full profile.

We would love to share more about Adam and our process of being pre-approved for a Second Chance adoption. Please write to us!
Adam likes being with people, playing outside, going to parks, running, riding his two-wheeled bike (he has great self-control and balance), and swimming (he has no fear of water, so he needs a life jacket). He likes to play with Legos and while he occasionally follows the building instructions, he prefers to use his awesome imagination to build things. He really enjoys things that spark his imagination like hot wheel cars, super-heroes, dressing up, singing and making up silly songs. He likes to build forts, play with the family dogs, ANYTHING Toy Story and reading national geographic books.
Adam’s family told us he is a happy, funny, goofy, fun, laid back (go with the flow) little boy. He has a sweet, extroverted optimistic personality. He has a great sense of humor, is curious and smart and enjoys being helpful. He loves to be quizzed on subjects he’s learning about. He likes to write stories and plays and act them out. He says he wants to be a ‘draw-er’ for movies when he grows up, writing stories to act out. He makes friends easily as others are drawn to his fun and upbeat energy.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. You will need to have a current, or easily-updated home study for this adoption.
Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in NY, CT, MA, or DE. If you live in OR, you may need to travel to the child’s state for finalization of the adoption. This child cannot be adopted in WA and ID. If you have never had a home study before, we cannot help you adopt this child. But we would love to share with you the process of starting a home study so you could be approved for a child in the near future. Please write to us and ask us how to get started!
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption may qualify for the IRS Adoption Tax Credits.
