Preparation Services
WIA is a
full service licensed placement agency specializing in international adoption.
If you as the adoptive parents are in the process of completing independent
adoption without the support of an agency, or if you are working with
an agency that does not provide dossier assistance, WIA is available to
assist you in gathering and authentication or apostilling your adoption
dossier. It does not matter which country you are adopting from or where
you live - as long as you are a U.S. citizen our staff can assist you.
WIA has extensive experience in dossier preparation for countries all
around the world.
Our
Services for Dossier Preparation:
- Assistance
in obtaining the list of documents needed for each individual country’s
dossier.
- Assistance
from a personally assigned case manager. Your case manager will provide
the assistance you need when gathering each document needed for your
adoption dossier. You will have access to your case manager every day
and your case manager will be there to answer any questions you might
have or give any assistance necessary if you are having difficulty obtaining
the documents needed for the dossier.
- Assistance
obtaining state authentication for all documents.
- Assistance
in obtaining U.S. State Department authentications when needed.
- Assistance
in obtaining authentication of your documents from the foreign country’s
Embassy from which you are adopting.
Cost:
- Dossier
Preparation: The basic fee for dossier assistance is $1,000, but the
cost may be higher, depending on the dossier requirements of the foreign
country.
- Authentication
Costs: WIA will be responsible for handling the authentication process,
but you as the adoptive parent will be responsible for the cost associated
with the authentication of each document as well as courier service
fees and mailing fees.
