Zack – Placed
*Zack turned 13 on Valentine’s Day. He was adopted last October (2015) from a European country.
Zack has a respectful and affectionate relationship with both his adopted parents as well as the younger (not adopted) child in the family. They tell us that he is quiet and kind. He is very shy and takes time to warm up to new people and situations. Zack loves to help fix things around the house. Home Depot is his favorite store—he can get lost for hours in there looking at all the tools and supplies for fixing and building things. He likes to work with his hands and will fix anything around the house that is broken. He likes to use tools and paint. He can think ‘outside the box’ when confronted with a problem, and is creative in coming up with solutions. He also likes Mine Craft a lot. He loves to ride his bike and play soccer. He is very talented at soccer.
Zack knew no English at all when he was adopted last October, but is in ESL classes and making great progress. Zack has modified academic work in school (he just finished the 6th grade), and gets good grades. His teachers say he is very smart and a wonderful student. He is a positive role model for other students. He is compliant and hard working.
We do not usually accept children as old as Zack into our program, but we have made an exception for him due to the wonderful report from his current family. Please write to us for more info on why he needs a different adoptive placement.
This is a private adoption, so a state or foster home study might not work. A state authorized private domestic or international home study is generally required. Due to state laws, we are not able to place this child in CT, MA, MO, NY or DE.
Adoption is a legal process so there will be costs associated. This adoption qualifies for the IRS Adoption Tax Credit.
