Wasatch International Adoptions (WIA) is a full service adoption placing agency licensed in the States of Utah. Full service means WIA can perform any adoption related service. However, depending on state requirements, some services may have to be completed by an agency licensed in the state of residence of the adoptive parents. Services provided to adopting families are as follows: Adoption Services Wasatch International Adoptions can assist families living in every state in the United States and U.S. citizens living abroad with the following:
When adopting a child through WIA, you will be assigned a case manager that will work with you directly with you as the adoptive family through all aspects of the adoption process. WIA has successful adoption programs in both Asia and Europe. Pregnancy Counseling and Birth Mother Counseling – If you are a birth mother who may be considering placing your child for adoption, WIA can meet with you to discuss your options. The options available include making the decision to place your child or parent your child. Our social workers have extensive experience in birth mother counseling and are supportive of any decision you make as a birth mother. International Home Study, $1,200
Domestic Home Study - $900 WIA provides home study services and assistance for families who are adopting domestically. Our social workers are familiar with the requirements for domestic home studies and the home study will be completed by a licensed professional social worker. The timeline for the completion of a domestic adoption will depend on how quickly state child abuse registry results are provided to WIA. The fee for a domestic home study also includes the required court appearance of the social worker at finalization. WIA Home Study Update – cost $300
Non-WIA Home Study Update – cost $350
Post Adoption/Post Placement Service – cost $250 per visit
Dossier Preparation Service
Wasatch International Adoption offers dossier preparation assistance for any foreign adoption from any country around the world. If you are adopting independently or are using an agency for placement that does not offer dossier assistance, WIA would be delighted to assist in the preparation of your adoption dossier. You will be assigned a dossier specialist who will help you with the documents needed for your dossier, and will assist you with the authentication or apostille process. Our staff is knowledgeable and have assisted hundreds of adoptive families prepare and submit dossiers to complete the adoption process from a variety of countries around the world. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need assistance with your adoption dossier. For those families who are using WIA as a placing agency, dossier service is included in the contracted cost of your adoption. Crisis Intervention WIA provides crisis intervention for all families using any of WIA’s services. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide crisis counseling for families experiencing problems after the placement of a child. If issues cannot be resolved, our social workers will assist the family in finding private long term counseling within the community.
